House of Dragon

Cod. Series TM

The House of Dragon project, carried out at Parco Natura Viva, was meant to create a unique space in Italy dedicated to the theme of gigantism and dwarfism in the animal kingdom. Inside the large greenhouse, visitors can observe up close some of the planet's most extraordinary species, such as Komodo dragons, giant tortoises and many other life forms, including tropical butterflies that fly freely in the recreated environment. In this project, Africa Style played a central role by actively participating in all stages of the development, from design to construction. Africa Style oversaw both the interventions inside and outside the area, applying structural and scenographic elements in both wood and iron. The whole work includes the paths' paving, the small houses inspired by the traditional architecture of Komodo Island, roofs, cladding, windows, parapets and numerous technical accessories, up to the small stainless steel windows. Each component was custom-designed and built, with a focus on durability, safety and aesthetic result. The materials mainly used for this project come from Africa and they are selected to ensure strength, performance and authenticity. All details have been studied carefully to recreate an environment as realistic as possible, always keeping animal welfare and the specific needs of the species hosted as the priority. The result is an immersive and evocative space that combines thematic design, craftsmanship and tailor-made solutions, presenting the House of Giants as one of the park's most original and engaging spot.
